YOU ARE BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING!

Gen 12:1-3

1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

The Bible teaches that we should use our blessings to bless others.

God decided to bless Abraham.
- This was God’s idea.
- Abraham did nothing to earn or deserve it.
- The BLESSING came to him by grace.

But WHY?
- Why did God choose to BLESS Abraham?
- So he could BE a blessing.
- All the families of the earth would be BLESSED through Abraham.
- The Blessing was NOT JUST for Abraham and Sarah, but for the entire world!

We are BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING!

*** The PURPOSE of THE BLESSING is so we can BE a BLESSING TO OTHERS!

But to focus on others you need to do two things:

Acknowledge the Blessing
Focus on Being a Blessing

God blesses you with everything you have, and His intention is for us TO BLESS others. But we can’t if we fail to operate in our OVERFLOW!

The Blessing comes TO you, so it can flow THROUGH YOU.

Let the Blessing of the Lord FLOW OUTWARDLY.
The Blessing is ALWAYS going to be TOO MUCH for just you.
We serve a God of the TOO MUCH!

God is TOO BIG to just focus on YOU!

(Luke 18:29,30 KJV)

29 And he [JESUS] said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake,

30 Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.

*** It was not until we started Focusing on BEING A BLESSING to other people, that the Lord gave us more!

It might sound spiritual to say, “I only want enough FOR ME!”
You might think it is humble to say, “I don’t want much, just enough FOR ME and MY FAMILY.”
But that is not humble, it is actually SELFISH!
Because you are not focused on anyone else!

When me and my husband started focusing on BEING a blessing to others, THE OVERFLOW CAME!

God is your SOURCE and He has NO SHORTAGE!

Let’s look at something Jesus said in Luke,

(Luke 6:38 KJV)

38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Now I will read that same verse from the Easy-to-Read Bible

(Luke 6:38 ERV )

38 Give to others, and you will receive. You will be given much. It will be poured into your hands—more than you can hold. You will be given so much that it will spill into your lap. The way you give to others is the way God will give to you.”

So my message to you is simple…
